The COVID-19 pandemic transformed lives in ways we could hardly have imagined. From lockdowns to social distancing, the world experienced shifts that were as profound as they were sudden. Amid these challenges lay a crucial concept: collective trauma. Understanding this phenomenon, alongside the notion of galactic ascension, can provide insights into the future of humanity. In this post, we will break down these ideas, explore their implications, and ask whether we are entering a new era.
What is Collective Trauma?
Collective trauma is the psychological and emotional harm experienced by a group of individuals who share a traumatic event. This often surfaces during disasters, conflicts, or widespread illnesses. The impact of collective trauma usually extends beyond the immediate event, influencing the identity and culture of affected communities.
During the pandemic, virtually every individual faced anxiety, loss, and isolation. A study showed that about 60% of adults reported symptoms of anxiety or depressive disorders during this period. These feelings of helplessness and disconnection illustrate how deeply the trauma permeated our lives.
As we collectively navigated lockdowns and social distancing, we shared experiences that bonded us in suffering. Yet, many were left feeling a profound sense of loss and uncertainty.
The Trauma of COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic was not just a health crisis; it affected every aspect of our lives. Businesses shut down, jobs were lost, and daily routines were upended. In the U.S. alone, over 20 million people lost their jobs in April 2020, a staggering statistic that highlights the economic toll of the pandemic.
Reports of anxiety and depression surged. Some studies indicated that mental health symptoms doubled during this crisis. Healthcare workers faced extreme stress, with 1 in 3 reporting symptoms of PTSD following their experiences on the front lines. The continuous barrage of alarming news intensified the collective anxiety experienced by many.
Our shared suffering was palpable, but it left a lasting imprint of fear and uncertainty in its wake.
The Transformational Aspect of Collective Trauma
While collective trauma is painful, it can also serve as a catalyst for change. Historically, societies that have faced adversity often emerge stronger and more unified. For example, after World War II, communities banded together to rebuild, leading to the establishment of crucial social safety nets.
New Perspectives
Amid the pandemic, many people began to refocus on what truly mattered. Interest in mental wellness surged, with online meditation classes seeing a 100% increase in attendees. Communities rallied to support each other, revealing a powerful sense of empathy and collective responsibility.
Despite the pain, we may be on the brink of becoming a more connected and compassionate society.

Ascension in the Context of Trauma
At first glance, the concepts of trauma and ascension may seem contradictory. However, they are intricately connected. Ascension refers to evolving towards a higher state of awareness and consciousness. In many spiritual and philosophical teachings, trauma serves as a precursor to this growth.
Awakening to New Perspectives
During the pandemic, people began to awaken to new perspectives about health, relationships, and their place in the world. Practices such as mindfulness and community building became focal points. A significant 70% of individuals reported that they were reevaluating their life goals and values, demonstrating a collective shift in consciousness.
This awakening not only affects individuals but signifies a broader societal transformation.
Are We Ascending Galactically?
When we discuss ascension, we may wonder if it extends beyond our individual and community growth to a galactic scale. The idea of galactic ascension suggests that humanity is evolving towards a deeper interconnectedness with the cosmos. Various spiritual traditions emphasize that our experiences are part of a larger universal tapestry.
Connecting with Cosmic Consciousness
This has sparked increased interest in cosmic consciousness. Communities are increasingly focusing on unity and healing modalities, prompting discussions about how we can connect with something greater. Are we on the cusp of evolving into a higher state of being, not just for ourselves but as participants in a grander cosmic plan?
I believe so, and so many others are in alignment as well. Many are connecting with their higher selves, realizing that a version of God/Source/Creator/Mother Goddess lives inside us all. We are made of more than just flesh and bone.
We can channel galactic brothers and sisters, access ancient knowledge and technology, and harness our self-healing abilities. All of this knowledge, once suppressed throughout humanity’s lifetime, is now becoming manifest. Everything that was hidden is being revealed.
What Does This Mean for the Future of Humanity?
The relationship between trauma and ascension paints a hopeful picture of the future. While the scars of trauma may linger, they can also remind us of our resilience and the power of human connection. Embracing our shared experiences and acknowledging the pain leads us toward a more empathetic and conscious world.
One where we understand that everyone feels pain. That we all really are in this together.
Healing Through Connection
As we move forward, healing through conversation, support, and community rebuilding becomes essential. Prioritizing mental health, especially in light of our collective trauma, sets the stage for a brighter future. This future celebrates connection, understanding, and growth.

Bridging the Gap Between Trauma and Ascension
To make the most of this transformative moment, we need to actively bridge the gap between trauma and the ascension we seek. This involves both personal and collective healing, creating a culture of empathy, and promoting education on mental health.
Promote Dialogue: Open conversations about mental health can reduce stigma and encourage healing. Communities should foster spaces for sharing experiences and supporting one another.
Encourage Self-Discovery: Involvement in practices like meditation and community service enhances self-awareness. This personal growth can lead to a deeper understanding of one’s purpose.
Acknowledging the Healing Journey
To truly harness the potential of this moment, we need to acknowledge that healing is a non-linear journey. It entails ups and downs that deserve recognition and respect. Your healing journey is yours alone. Do not fall prey to comparison; it is the thief of joy. As long as you tried your best in that moment, then you have succeeded, my friend.
A Vision for Humanity's Future
COVID-19 has revealed the nature of collective trauma while offering the promise of transformation. We find ourselves at a crucial junction in history where shared experiences of suffering can pave the way to healing and ascension.
As we reflect on our lives, we must prioritize connection, understanding, and compassion. The experiences we've shared can motivate humanity to work together toward positive change. Our collective future depends on how well we navigate this path together. Healing while embracing unity will pave the way for a brighter tomorrow for all beings of Mother Earth and our Galaxy.
